Natural National Park “Sierra Nevada of Cocuy, Güican and Chita” (Boyacá)

With the best possibilities for alpine climbing, the “Sierra Nevada del Cocuy, Güican y Chita” or El Cocuy, as most of the people know it, represents the most interesting scenery for those that are looking for bigwall and adventure climbing.
This park is located between the regions of Casanare, Boyacá and Arauca. This beautiful National Park has 306.000 Hectares with more than 10 peaks above 5.000m.
The oriental faces of these mountains represent the most interesting alpine challenges, being outlined some routes like;
“Vida entre tinieblas” Oriental Face of Ritacuba Blanco, A2+, 800 m.
“Arista Nororiental” Ritacuba Negro. 5.9, 600m.
“Pared Oriental del Pan de Azúcar”, recently completed, this route has has quite a few pitches 5.10+.
